Hi, I’m Kirk Blosch the inventor of the Reel Guard. As an avid fly fisher I take pride in my gear as I’m sure you do too. Over the years I’ve noticed that wear and tear on my reels is most noticeable on the outside edges of the Reel. These nicks, scratches and wear marks can come from dropping a reel, falling when fishing, storing a rod and reel in a drift boat when floating and sometimes, when simply setting a rod and reel on the ground to feed fly line through the guides. After struggling with this issue more than once I decided to purchase some sort of protection for my reel of which I was sure would be available. However after visiting my favorite vendors and thoroughly searching the web I quickly discovered that such a product was not yet available to the fly fishing community. Once I was made aware of this I began to develop my very own protection for my reels and after a few runs of trial and error trying different solutions I finally had a durable product that was quick and easy to install and is virtually unnoticeable on all of my reels.
